A² is providing CEI Services for the Casey Key Shoreline Protection Project for Sarasota County. This is a design-build project with CEI oversight focused on local and coastal roadway repairs on Casey Key. As a result of Hurricane Debby, North Casey Key Road experienced a partial collapse and subsequently sustained catastrophic damage from Hurricane Milton. The restoration work is funded 50% by the North Casey Key Special Tax District and 50% by Sarasota County. The scope includes managing the implementation of roadway repairs while maintaining access to all residential communities.


City of Maitland Continuing CMAR Services Contract for Parks, Utilities, Trails, etc.

A² provided Continuing CMAR Services for park improvements, utilities, trails, and other public projects for the City of Maitland. Projects under this contract included the Westside Trail and Roadway Rehabilitation and Maitland Community Park and Lake Avenue Pedestrian Bridge and Boardwalk. The boardwalk project consisted of removing and replacing the existing boardwalk, except for the pilings, at Maitland Community Park and the boardwalk along railroad tracks near Lake Avenue and Lake Lily Drive. The scope included the installation of six (6) piles, replacement of bent caps, joists, composite deck, composite railing, pavilions, ornamental entrance gate, and wetland enhancement planting. 


Port Charlotte Beach Renovation

Venice Parking Lot 3

A² provided general contracting services for an asphalt parking lot adjacent to the City of Venice Public Fishing Pier and beach access in Venice, Florida. The Parking Lot Site 3 improvements included clearing and grubbing, asphalt and base parking area, asphalt and base walking trail, concrete sidewalks and driveway, striping, landscaping, and site lighting.


Miami Dade Water and Sewer Rehabilitation

A² provided Engineering and Construction Support Services on over $385,000,000 worth of work for the Miami-Dade County Water and Sewer Department.  The Department was in the process of rehabilitating its wastewater collection and treatment systems.  The system was anticipated to cost over $1 billion in order to meets its federally mandated completion goal. Our firm played an integral part in the achievement of this goal on various projects. The scope of engineering and construction services performed for the County includes civil engineering design, preparation and compilation of construction documents, bid solicitation, bid analysis and recommendations, contract award, document and cost controls, scheduling, and claims avoidance. 


Engineering & Construction Management for Miami Dade Public Works

FEMA Dorm Drainage Designs for DERM

We provided engineering design services on various projects for the Miami-Dade Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM).  Duties included surveying of prospective work sites and developing conceptual designs, permit application, and construction plans for large scale or complex projects such as new or existing stormwater drainage systems, restoration of filled or hydrologically altered wetlands, or modification of drainage canals, salinity control structure or their operation; roadway and drainage hazard mitigation design; and design services for FEMA funded projects involved restoring and replacing of drainage systems and repairing roadways damaged by major storms.


Engineering & Construction Management for DERM

A² provided engineering construction management services for the Miami-Dade Department of Environmental Resource Management (DERM).  The scope of work included services for the repair of infrastructure damage as a result of severe flooding that occurred during Hurricane Irene in October 1999 and another storm in October 2000.  We were also responsible for implementing hazard mitigation projects to reduce flooding and related property damage in the future.  The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Florida’s Department of Community Affairs (DCA) and Miami-Dade County Stormwater Utilityauthorized funding for Miami-Dade County to address these damages.  As the construction managers, A² was responsible for overseeing and coordinating the work of design consultants, surveyors and construction contractors.

Miami Beach Program Management of Infrastructure Improvements

A² Group, Inc. provided our services for the Program Management of the Miami Beach Infrastructure Improvement Projects. The contract focused on fourteen neighborhoods including Biscayne Point, North Shore, Normandy Shores, Normandy Isles, La Gorce, Oceanfront, Nautilus, Bayshore and Sunset Islands, Flamingo/Lummus, West Avenue/Bay Road, South Pointe, Star Island, Palm & Hibiscus Islands, and Belle Isle. Program elements included citywide water and stormwater improvements, as well a variety of streetscape enhancement projects including landscape, pavement, sidewalk, decorative lighting and target hardscape enhancements. This was a Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) award-winning Right of Way Improvement Program. The services included scheduling, field inspections, cost management, quality surveying, estimating, claims analysis and avoidance, constructability review, and design reviews.
