The project encompasses approximately 4.5 miles of construction along the SR 417 mainline from east of Boggy Creek Road to east of Narcoossee Road and widens the facility primarily to the inside, adding a general use lane in each direction along with a Part Time Shoulder Running (PRSR) lane.

A² Group, Inc. (A²) is pleased to welcome Peter Nissen, P.E. as our new CEI Division Manager. Having served extensively in the public and private sectors for more than 32 years on roadway and bridge projects in Florida, Pete brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success that will be invaluable in the advancement of A²'s Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CEI) services. Pete's areas of expertise include CEI projects for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 4 and the Florida Turnpike Enterprise. He will be assuming the leadership role for South Florida CEI operations. In addition, he will also be spearheading the growth of A²'s Port Charlotte office CEI operations for FDOT District 1 and the future Multi-use Corridors of Regional Economic Significance (M-CORES) program.

Charlotte County has awarded A² the Firing Range Facility Project
Charlotte County secured A²'s services in the construction of a new Firing Range Facility to be located at 25500 Airport Road in Punta Gorda, Florida. The 5.25 acre site is located at the existing Sheriff's Airport Road Annex. The project will include a partially baffled firing range, a firing range control building, a firing range support building, a garage, a parking area, site work, and firing range berm de-construction and lead reclamation.

Charlotte County has awarded A² the Parade Circle Pathway Extension Project
A² has been awarded the Parade Circle Pathway Extension Project by Charlotte County. The project includes the construction of an 8' wide asphalt multi-use path that will be approximately 0.55 miles in length. This will be located at the south end of Parade Circle in the center of Rotonda West. The new path will connect to an existing path at both ends and will be the Inner Circle Connection (ICC) for this missing pathway section of Parade Circle. We will be responsible for addressing all gopher tortoise burrows, drainage pipes, mitered ends, and fence/gate replacement, Maintenance of Traffic (MOT), erosion control, NPDES compliance, silt fence, clearing and grubbing, select tree removal, installation of path stabilized sub-base, ADA compliance, excavation and fill, finish grading, sod, and restoration.

The A² team, headed up by Yesmin Cecilio, P.E., will be providing CEI Services for the Civil Infrastructure Modifications for Toll Zones on SR 874, SR 878 and SR 924. The scope includes overseeing the installation of new conduits, pull boxes, junction boxes, ITS cabinets, load centers, and lighting at the toll plazas, as well as milling and resurfacing, and thermoplastic striping.

The Grand Opening for the Wekiva Parkway Section 2B is Scheduled for March 31, 2018
The Central Florida Expressway Authority and the project stakeholders, including A², will be celebrating the opening of the Section 2B of the Wekiva Parkway. This new stretch is located between SR 46, Round Lake Road, Kelly Park Road and CR 435/Mount Plymouth Road.
